So I just got my final grades in, and I think I passed all my classes. I have officially graduated from college and will have a full time job in software development very soon!

I did have this entire week off, and with school finally off my mind I had the mental space to start writing the first chapter of the next series, the Legend of Asturn. It's going to be set on Asturn during their Iron Age, illustrating how the three species eventually came to coexist with each other. I will probably have the first chapter done by the end of this week, and as always I will be posting chapters as I finish them!

I'm sure all of you have far too many yearly recaps to read, so I'm going to spare you mine. In short, I went through so many changes this past decade I can't remember what it was like to be me 10 years ago. But honestly, isn't everyone's lives like that?

For those of you still interested in my writing, I've begun to worldbuild for the Asturn series I'll eventually write. This include even the map of the planet, with which I'm using Wonderdraft to create. I should have the map finished by sometime next week and then I'll be able to share it with you. Then I'll be outlining several different possible plots for the whole series and then seeing which one makes the most sense or has the most impact. I may start writing and posting chapters of the first book by summer, and who knows how long it'll take to write this one?

As usual, I appreciate all the support I've received, and I hope you get a strong start to this new decade!

I'm not feeling creative enough to write some crazy announcement thing like I did for Shattered Stars. I blame college dead week.

Mother of Stars is officially released on Amazon and other online retailers! You can buy it from your favorite online retailer here. The ebook is $2.99 and the paperback, which is only on Amazon, is $9.99. I have also updated all the chapters on DA and Wattpad to match the final draft.

Shattered Stars has also been put on a $0.99 discount indefinitely.

Real talk, I'm too mentally drained to go on the long, gushing thank you for your support, what it means to me, bla bla bla.

For a small update, I'm going to spend the next 6 - 8 months slowly worldbuilding for the Legend of Asturn series. After writing SS and MoS, I've come to the conclusion that I don't know jack squat about how to write a good book with a storyline that makes sense. Given that SS and MoS happened without much prior planning, I don't know much about plotting and worldbuilding yet. I'm actually excited to see how different my writing will be once I have a developed world planned out. I'm still in the early stages, but the characters already seem like they will be deeper and more complex. Hopefully that goes for the plot as well. Only time will tell.

Apparently today is my third anniversary of my account on DA. Honestly, I don't have much to say other than yay?

I appreciate all of you who have stuck around with me this far. I'm aware my upload rate has slowed over the past few months, and that's the result of being a full-time college student (and looking for a part-time C.S. job as well). I would love to get started on my next major project, which will be the Legend of Asturn trilogy, but I have no idea when I'll start on it. It might be December this year when school ends, or it might be as late as May next year. Though the workload of college hasn't been too hard, I am taking a writing intensive course, and that has been really draining for my writing brain. I've already written five essays (not including the two essays for the midterm), and I still have one more 1000 word essay to write. Even in my free time, my mind doesn't have the energy it used to. Side note: I did finally get off my antidepressant medication a couple months ago, and I've noticed it's a lot harder to concentrate and story inspiration occurs less often, but that's part of my mental growth process. I'll likely return to my previous enthusiasm eventually after my brain slowly adjusts from the serotonin deficit.

Small update on The Fall of Soruvis. I swiftly received two rejection letters from Clarkesworld Magazine and Asimov's. The story is still sitting in the submission pile at Analog Magazine, and I'm awaiting their rejection letter (only ~4% of submissions get accepted), and apparently they take 2 - 3 months to respond. And then I'll submit it to Fantasy and Science Fiction, which will take another 2 months to respond. Then I'll be allowed to share it with you all. So, to that one person who's dying to read a tragedy, hang tight!

And for Mother of Stars, I'm finishing the proofreading today and I'm going to finalize it in Reedsy soon, after I have one of my beta readers check over a couple things. I'll have the cover by the end of November, and it'll be published by the end of the year! :D

That's all for now!
