Apparently today is my third anniversary of my account on DA. Honestly, I don't have much to say other than yay?
I appreciate all of you who have stuck around with me this far. I'm aware my upload rate has slowed over the past few months, and that's the result of being a full-time college student (and looking for a part-time C.S. job as well). I would love to get started on my next major project, which will be the Legend of Asturn trilogy, but I have no idea when I'll start on it. It might be December this year when school ends, or it might be as late as May next year. Though the workload of college hasn't been too hard, I am taking a writing intensive course, and
that has been really draining for my writing brain. I've already written five essays (
not including the two essays for the midterm), and I still have one more 1000 word essay to write. Even in my free time, my mind doesn't have the energy it used to. Side note: I did finally get off my antidepressant medication a couple months ago, and I've noticed it's a lot harder to concentrate and story inspiration occurs less often, but that's part of my mental growth process. I'll likely return to my previous enthusiasm eventually after my brain slowly adjusts from the serotonin deficit.
Small update on The Fall of Soruvis. I swiftly received two rejection letters from Clarkesworld Magazine and Asimov's. The story is still sitting in the submission pile at Analog Magazine, and I'm awaiting their rejection letter (only ~4% of submissions get accepted), and apparently they take 2 - 3 months to respond. And
then I'll submit it to
Fantasy and Science Fiction, which will take another 2 months to respond. Then I'll be allowed to share it with you all. So, to that one person who's dying to read a tragedy, hang tight!
And for Mother of Stars, I'm finishing the proofreading today and I'm going to finalize it in Reedsy soon, after I have one of my beta readers check over a couple things. I'll have the cover by the end of November, and it'll be published by the end of the year!
That's all for now!
